Judge Flooring began the same way many good trades do — one man, a van, and a commitment to doing the job properly.
Steve started Judge Flooring working independently, fitting floors for local customers across Brighton & Hove and the surrounding areas. No sales team, no shortcuts — just honest advice, long days on site, and pride in every finish. Word spread quickly, and what started as small residential jobs soon grew into repeat work, recommendations, and larger projects.
As demand increased, so did the business. Judge Flooring grew from a one-man operation into a close-knit team of skilled fitters, allowing us to take on more complex residential and commercial work while maintaining the same high standards that built our reputation in the first place.
Today, Judge Flooring is a family-run flooring company with its own showroom in Brighton & Hove, employing a dedicated team and serving customers across Sussex and beyond. While the business has grown, our values haven’t changed — quality workmanship, clear communication, and treating every job with care and respect.
We now specialise in LVT, carpet, vinyl, and safety flooring, working with homeowners, landlords, and commercial clients alike. Whether it’s a single room, a full property, or a commercial space, every project is approached with the same attention to detail that defined Judge Flooring from day one.

Even as we’ve grown, Judge Flooring remains hands-on and personal. You’ll still deal with people who understand the trade, know the materials, and genuinely care about the final result — not salespeople reading from a script.
Our showroom allows customers to see, feel, and compare flooring properly, while our site visits ensure every installation is planned correctly from the start.

We highly recommend Judge Flooring who have recently done a great job for us in our hall, breakfast room, stairs, landing and kitchen. From the outset, Steve was really helpful giving us advice and recommendations, and bringing extra samples of carpets and flooring to our home when we were indecisive. From ordering to completion, the turnaround was very quick. Steve, Alfie and Josh were all really polite and thoughtful and worked hard all day without stopping for a break to get the prep, vinyl tiles and carpets finished. What a team!
Steve and the boys were amazing. They screeded the kitchen floor and made choosing the replacement vinyl easy because of their vast experience. They laid out samples of flooring in the pattern they thought would work for us with a beautiful border pattern. We are so pleased with the result. Nothing was too much trouble. They arrived on time, worked quickly, neatly and tidily. Will definitely use them again.
